To my understand as well as Tina’s, delivering compelling messages in a relaxed community is all Dr. Krashen is recommending. The two of us have talked about this topic non-stop for over a year now.  Krashen says nothing about repetitions, targets, heavy circling, establishing meaning (not necessary if we are teaching slowly enough and the context is interesting), having to supply cute answers (puts stress on them, conflicts with everything Beniko Mason says, favors the louder, bolder, and more privileged kids), gesturing as a group (we forget to do it most of the time anyway), lengthy undisciplined stories lasting more than 25 minutes, class reading of novels (because that is a school thing and leads to rule by the few).  In fact, he has written several times in recent years arguing that non-targeted input is optimal and that targeted input has some serious shortcomings.  Dr. Krashen has written about these shortcomings in two recent papers, one from 2013  and one from 2015.
