……essentially [in this work] a story is driven by a set of structures, a plot, or a character. There are teachers whose stories are driven by a set of structures. The scripts are plot-driven. The Invisibles are character-driven….

  1. Brilliant. And there’s a special benefit for creating a story that is character driven instead of plot driven: the story could go on and on and still maintain our interest. It’s like soap operas. They’re character driven. And how many years did Guiding Light run for? (just checked on Google. IMDb says from 1952-2009)
