I got a confidence-building note today from one of the top students I have taught in my career, who may be the best of all over almost 40 years. She is German, and very demanding – in a good way – as a student because her processing rate is so fast, so it feels like teaching two classes at once. Perhaps some can relate.

Dear Mr. Slavic,

This year we did not do much of TPRS style learning, which I thought was a bit sad. I hope that your current classes are cooperating with your teaching style; I have found that it is the most helpful way of learning that I have encountered.

    Ben, listen to your students and forget about critics who object to or even bad-mouth your deep insights into human nature and the resulting learning “methods”.
