Are dictees an exercise where the teacher reads a paragraph in L2 and the students write it down on paper? At what point in the year would a Spanish I teacher begin this, and how are they graded? Does spelling count? Thanks.
Hi Laura,
There are some very good explanations on dictee/dictation in the categories section on the right. Yes, spelling absolutely counts but very few kids will have errors because after they take the dictation they get to correct their version by comparing it to a copy projected on the board. That’s what makes this whole process so awesome!!! In the posts on the side, there will also be explanations about when to begin and how to grade them.
